Houston is finally ready to take calls from interested teams at angry quarterback Deshaun Watson, who filed a trade with the Texans in January, NFL reporter Tom Pelissero said on Monday.
The two sides met on Sunday when Watson, who is currently facing 22 civil lawsuits for alleged sexual misconduct, reported at training camp to avoid being fined $ 50,000 daily.
« Watson was respectful, but his demeanor made it clear that he didn’t want to be in Houston, » reported Pelissero.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Texans were in exchange for the 25-year-old, three-time pro Bowler, who would also have to forego his no-trade clause, is looking for « three first-round picks and more ».
Watson filed a trade less than a year after Houston gave it a four-year extension of $ 156 million.
It is unclear which teams have come forward with interest in Watson, the twelfth overall pick from Houston in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Since the spring, Watson has been accused of sexual misconduct by over twenty women, mostly massage therapists.
The NFL is investigating the allegations even though the Liga did not put Watson on the exception list due to a possible ban.
