Former Australian time trial world champion Rohan Dennis headed an Ineos podium at the prologue of the Tour de Romandie on Tuesday.

The 4.05 kilometer race against the clock in and around Oron-la -Ville, which ended with a 900-meter summit, ran right down the road of the Ineos Grenadiers. Dennis set a fastest time of 5 minutes and 26 seconds.

The 2018 world time trial champion was just over nine seconds ahead of his Welsh team-mate Geraint Thomas, the winner of the 2018 Tour de France, and his Australian compatriot Richie Porte, who 2017 drove away with the Romandie title, making for a perfect start for the British team.

The stage on Wednesday leads the peloton on a 168.1 km journey from Aigle to Martigny. On Sunday, the final day in Freiburg, a second time trial awaits you.
