CM – The British Envoy to India meets with Chief Minister Thackeray of Maharasthra in Mumbai

UK High Commissioner for India Alex Ellis met Maharashtra Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray and other leading figures in Mumbai and attended a Ganesh Idol workshop to learn more about the meaning of Ganesh Chaturthi.

He spoke to Uddhav Thackeray and other heads of state and government about the UK-Maharashtra trade, health and climate relationship.

Ellis said in a tweet: « Nice to meet @ CMOMaharashtra Shri Uddhav Thackeray and @AUThackeray to speak to discuss how the UK and Maharashtra can continue to work on trade, healthcare, climate change and more. «

During his visit to Mumbai from September 7th to 9th, he also met Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray and NCP boss Sharad Pawar, as well as with leading companies with British connections such as Tatas, Mahindras, Piramals and a few others together.

Interestingly, Mr Ellis had his first Vada Pav in town and was also greeted by famous dabbawalas who gave him a symbolic dabba (tin can).

Furthermore, Mr. Ellis had the most amazing experience attending a Ganesh idol workshop to learn more about the meaning of Ganesh To learn about Chaturthi in the state.

He had a short discussion with Mr. Pawar on topics such as COVID-19 containment, defense, international relations, cricket and others.
