Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has drawn the ire of many after posting and then deleting a tweet that was following an Ohio police officer who was a black teenager .
Idaho, an MP from Bellevue, posted a TikTok video mocking James for criticizing the Ohio officer.
The officer was later fired, insisting the town mayor however, that the firing was not due to Nate Silvester’s social media post.
James’ tweet came about a month ago when the officer in question fatally shot and killed Ma’Khia Bryant, an African American teenager.
Bryant was seen holding a knife and she apparently tried to stab another teenager when she was shot.
The tweet followed a less controversial tweet in which the four-time MVP condemned Derek Chauvin , celebrated the former Minneapolis police officer who murdered George Floyd.
New Year’s video is probably the last thing James thinks about. He’s working his way back from a severe ankle sprain as his Lakers try to knock the Phoenix Suns out of the 2021 NBA playoffs.
The series is currently 1-1, Game 3 takes place in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.
