CM – The Tanzanian-born writer Abdulrazak Gurnah receives the Nobel Prize for Literature

The Tanzanian-born writer Abdulrazak Gurnah won the Nobel Prize for Literature on Thursday for his writings on post-colonialism and the trauma of the refugee experience.

Gurnah, grew up on the island of Zanzibar, but went to England as a refugee in the late 1960s is the fifth African to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature.

A $ 300 million cash push will create nearly 10,000 new jobs in one of Australia’s largest employment sectors.
