The Mysterios got their SmackDown Tag Team Title Rematch on Saturday (August 21, 2021) WWE SummerSlam Pay-Per-View Event.
Rey & Dominik Mysterio challenged the Usos in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the Allegiant Stadium on Peacock to get the straps out. After a quick start by the challengers, the heels dominated the game. Dominik sells for a few minutes until his father leaves the hot day. In the finish, The Usos hit Rey double super kicks and then a splash of Jey to victory.
This came after The Usos won the SmackDown Tag Team titles by playing The Mysterios at the pre-show in Fort Worth last month , Texas, at Dickies Arena.
At the end of that match, Jimmy Rey curled up while Jey used his feet to give his brother extra strength. Two weeks later, Jey did the same to help Jimmy defeat Dominik in a one-on-one match. The following week, the Mysterios returned a favor when Dominik Rey helped defeat Jimmy.
The Mysterios won the titles from Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode back in May at the WWE WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view event at where a father and son tied the straps together for the first time in WWE.
Time will tell whether WWE will continue this feud or take a different direction to head to the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in September go.
