CM – Threats against NZ cricket during the White Ferns England tour

The New Zealand women’s cricket team – the White Ferns – has been banned in England following a « threatening email » reported as a bomb threat.

ESPNcricinfo reports that team management was bombed at the team’s hotel in Leicester and threatened with a bomb on the plane they would take to return to New Zealand.

New Zealand will face England in the third of five one-day internationals on Wednesday.

The threats apply, according to ESPN and NZC as « not credible » since then, but security has been increased.

The threat comes after the Black Caps canceled their tour of Pakistan late last week following a security threat.
