The NFL Draft 2021 starts on Thursday with the first round at prime time. There’s not much drama about the top of the draft, and ESPN’s Todd McShay agrees.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are determined in every way to get Trevor Lawrence # 1. This is a familiar place for the nation’s former top recruit who has been number one on virtually every football list he’s featured for years.

McShay has the Clemson beeper as his best player in class . The NFL draft results don’t often match the potential rankings due to team needs and other factors, but this year Lawrence is a pretty consistent conscript.

Beyond that, however, McShay’s rankings are different from what we’re in Regarding the draft order will likely be seen. Probably number 2 in the New York Jets, Zach Wilson comes in fourth. It’s the close end of Florida Kyle Pitts that a number of teams are reportedly very excited about that McShay has in second place / p> Trey Lance, not Justin Fields or Mac Jones, is McShay’s third quarterback and the only other to crack the top 10 overall prospects. The broad, receiver-heavy draft, however, plays out in this ranking, with Ja’Marr Chase from LSU ending up in 3rd place and DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle from Alabama finishing in 6th and 6th consecutive places.

Overall, none of these players would be one big surprise in the top 10, depending on how the position requirements develop and which trades take place. Northwest offensive lineman Rashawn Slater or Waddle is perhaps the least likely, but either of them could certainly land there. Slater was a very hot prospect due to his impressive college career and ability to play across the offensive line.
