CM – Tom Cruise landed in a family’s field in a helicopter and offered them a ride

Alison Webb was told her field needed a "late VIP," she told BBC News.

Imagine Tom Cruise landing straight out of the sky in your yard – literally. A family in the UK got a surprise when the actor landed on their field in a helicopter and let them ride with them.

Cruise is making the latest film Mission: Impossible in Europe and was due to be shot in Birmingham, UK. The nearby airport was closed and Cruise, who was traveling by helicopter, needed a landing pad, reports BBC News.

Alison Webb was asked if her field in nearby Warwickshire could be used to hold a helicopter for an unnamed  » VIP who was late to land, she told BBC News.

« I thought it would be kind of cool for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden, » Webb said. « He [Tom Cruise] basically came and got out and it was like, wow. »

Webb said Cruise immediately ran over to her kids and « elbowed them » to say hello and thank them. « Then he said the kids could go up in the helicopter if they wanted, » she said.

Cruise let the kids go with him while he went to a meeting. « It was an amazing day, » said Webb. « It was surreal, I still can’t believe it happened. »

Cruise has spent a lot of time in Europe over the past few months. According to Reuters, production of the seventh “Mission: Impossible” was stopped in February 2020 while filming in Italy. Filming resumed in September and moved to London in December.

The film, by Paramount Pictures (a division of ViacomCBS), was slated to premiere in November 2021, but has been postponed to May 27, 2022, according to Variety. </ Cruise was spotted several times during his time in Europe. Dozens in Birmingham have snapped photos of the actor filming in the Grand Central shopping mall, BBC News reports. Part of the center will be closed to the public until Wednesday this week as filming is taking place.

Cruise was also spotted at a local Indian restaurant on Saturday. After locals reportedly ordered two chicken tikka masala dishes from Asha, locals called him « Two Tikkas Tom, » reports BBC News.

Some speculated whether it was actually Cruise, but Nouman Farooqu, general The restaurant’s manager told BBC News it was « 100% » him. He came with a group of five and ordered dishes to share – then ordered seconds, Farooqu said. The restaurant also posted photos of Cruise with employees on Facebookl.
