CM – Two trapped in NSW after a school bus and truck collide

After the accident, emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway on Somers Street at 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Ambulance NSW told that five crews, including a specialized medical team, Fire and Rescue NSW and the Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter were on site.

Two people were trapped in the truck, but the driver – presumably a man in his twenties – has since been freed.

He suffered arm, Leg and groin injuries and was brought to Nepean Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The bus driver was uninjured in the collision, another occupant – a youth – suffered a minor hand injury.

All lanes in the direction West is blocked off on the Great Western Highway, with a local detour for light vehicles.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or expect delays and allow plenty of additional travel time.
