Jacob Ramsey and Kortney home missed good opportunities before Ollie Watkins was turned down by Butland after fifteen minutes and the start finally came with 17 minutes of play.

Zaha the was far to the left, was now in the middle, moving away from his marker to check for a pass from Eze. After working a meter, the Côte d’Ivoire international saw a shot deflect off Ahmed Elmohamady and hit Martinez.

It was the striker’s eleventh goal of the season – a new personal best – and it put him two Goals in front of next challenger Benteke remained as the club’s top scorer.

Now that the game was wide open, Eze came just inches away from the winner in the 82nd minute when he attempted the crossbar, but that third goal for Palace came two minutes later and from an unlikely source.
