Tyson Fury seems to be suggesting he will face Deontay Wilder for the third time after claiming the American asked for $ 20 million to step aside and take the To pave the way for a showdown with Anthony Joshua.

On Tuesday, promoter Eddie Hearn Fury’s team had set a deadline by the end of this week to save their prospective summer showdown against British rival Joshua in Saudi Arabia.

The competition was challenged by a court ruling in the United States that Fury was contractually required to hold a third meeting with Wilder.

An arbitrator’s decision, which can be legally binding, came just hours after Fury apparently confirmed that his clash with Joshua would take place on August 14th.

While the decision wouldn’t necessarily undo a Fury-Joshua deal , the team would have to demand a substantial payout from Fury to convince Wilder to step down temporarily.

And it would apparently also destroy hope that the deal made by Fury and Joshua would include a clause for an immediate rematch between the two could contain.

Fury and Wilder fought a split-decision tie in Los Angeles in December 2018, before Fury won their second meeting with a break in the seventh round last February.

Attempts to win a third fight , were aggravated by an injury to Wilder and the lack of available television data, which led Fury to move on, assuming an agreement had expired.

Following the announcement of the umpire’s decision, Fury posted a message on his Instagram story on a background photo of Wilder with the new trainer Malik Scott.

“What a joke @bronzebomber turned out. I asked for 20 million to switch over #joker, « Fury wrote in the post.

Earlier this week, Fury announced that the August 14 clash was 100% ongoing and added, » I can can’t wait to smash Anthony Joshua on the greatest stage of all time. «

Hearn spoke on Matchroom’s social media channels on Tuesday, stressing that the Fury camp must find a swift solution.

« We can’t wait, » said Hearn. « We had a deal with Tyson Fury and we were told that the arbitration would not be a problem, that we could continue this fight.

» We hope they can solve this problem, but we have to rely on ourselves and Anthony Joshua watch out.

« We have to maintain the position of unified world champion and these talks will continue and we want to be able to know by the end of this week if we are going to fight Tyson Fury or if we are with someone else Option to move forward. «
