CM – Updates: # 4 Gonzaga returns from hiatus to host Northern Alabama for the final non-conference game

8:27 – GU 25, NAU 16: The Lions take time out after losing four balls and scoring zero field goals in the last 3:25 minutes.

NAU basically gives them to GU that came out lazy. Strawthers back-to-back baskets broke a stretch of over 3 minutes without a field goal. He and Timme lead with six points each.

11:37 – GU 18, NAU 15: The Lions hang hard at the beginning, shoot 3 of 5 at 3-pointers, but quickly collect seven fouls on GUs zero.

The Bulldogs shoot 7 of 15 out of the field and are 0-for-4 with 3-pointers, as Andrew Nembhard opened the scoring with a triple.

Timme and Bolton lead the Zags with four points each while Youngblood leads the Lions with six points.

15:46 – GU 9, NAU 6: The Bulldogs take the lead early, but a break of over two minutes for both teams slows the pace.

Zags 9- 8 at the first media timeout. Four GU starters scored, Nembhard with a 3-ball.
Youngblood with two 3’s for North Alabama. The rest of the Lions are 1 of 8 out of the field.

The # 4 Bulldogs return to the kennel today to see North Alabama at 2 p.m. on KHQ / Root.

The Zags (10-2) are big favorites to end their non-conference roster with a win over the Lions (7-5).

Gonzaga last scored on Aug. A 95-49 win over Northern Arizona on December 31st and will begin his conference schedule later this week with games against Loyola Marymount on Saturday after the scheduled opener against San Diego on Thursday was postponed.

Gonzaga played against North Alabama on the same day in 2018. The Zags took a 96-51 win behind Zach Norvell Jr. with 20 points and all five starters hit double-digit numbers.
