According to Prime Minister Mark McGowan, a vaccinated hotel quarantine guard in Perth tested positive for coronavirus after several days in the community.
The man in his twenties worked on the same floor as some confirmed cases at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth but it is unclear how he got infected, McGowan told reporters on Saturday.
The young man’s infection has resulted in the infection of two of his seven roommates, including his roommate and a guest in the house who is from Canberra .
This is because the interim restrictions that remained in place after the strict three-day lockdown last weekend had severely restricted movement in the community, he said.
« That gives us a thing Confidence that the risk of transmission is significantly less than normal, « said McGowan.
