WARRINGTON Wolves apologized for the « hurtful and derogatory » language used by head coach Steve Price in his post-game interview at Sky Sports.
He used the term when he compared the young striker Ellis Longstaff to the England international John Bateman.Sky Sports apologized live after the interview and Price himself apologized in his subsequent press conference.
In A statement by the Wolves said: « The term is totally unacceptable and its use has no place in sport or society.
» Steve has since apologized, expressed his extreme regret and disappointment and made his remarks at his press conference corrected after the game.
Price leaves the club at the end of the season to return to Australia and is replaced by the current Castleford traine r Daryl Powell replaces.
