CM – Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins scores 20 points in Team Canada’s win over China in Olympic qualifying

After leading Team Canada to victory over Greece in the opening game of an Olympic qualifying tournament in Victoria, British Columbia, Andrew Wiggins returned to work in game two.

The Golden State striker lost to China Warriors 20 points in shooting 5-of-9 from the ground with four boards, three steals and two assists in 25 minutes. Wiggins drilled a trio of triples against China on seven attempts from beyond the arc. Team Canada stayed hot from the deep with Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Lu Dort and New York Knicks striker RJ Barrett taking three 3-point points each put. Nick Nurse’s team scored 17 threesomes against China in the second round of Olympic qualification.

Golden State Guard Mychal Mulder scored seven points in a 3-of-5 shooting from the field in 15 minutes from the bench.

Six different Canadians scored double-digit hits on their way to a blowout win over China, 109-79.

Wiggins, Nurse and the rest of Team Canada are now just one win away from getting a ticket for crack the Tokyo Summer Olympics. The Canadians will meet Cedi Osman, Alphren Sengun and the Czech Republic at 4:05 p.m. on Saturday. PT.
