Andrew Wiggins has signed himself on the NBA’s health and safety protocols and will miss Monday’s game against the Kings
He joins Jordan Poole on the list of Warriors’ players to miss due to league logs. Poole isolates himself in Boston after entering the logs on Friday. It’s not clear if Wiggins returned to the Bay Area before landing on the logs or if he’s stuck in Toronto.
Wiggins played for the Warriors in Boston on Friday night and rested alongside most of the team’s veterans when he lost on Saturday in his native Toronto.
The situation leaves the Warriors without two starters, their second and third best goal scorers. Wiggins scored 27 points in beating the Celtics and has scored double digits in every game this season. He shot his career bests off the floor (49.1 percent) and on 3-pointers (42.2 percent). He was also the Warriors’ best perimeter defender, helping Golden State maintain their league-topping defense (101.3 points per 100 possessions) alongside Draymond Green.
Wiggins stated last spring and pre-season that he had no plans to get the vaccine but eventually opted for a vaccination after it became clear he would not be allowed to play in San Francisco without it.
When asked if he was happy to have been vaccinated, Wiggins said this week, “No, I am not. But it is what it is, I think. »
