It has been great to see David de Gea at his best again this season for Manchester United.
It seemed like Spain had given up the shot stop completely at Euro 2020, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has always supported his goalkeeper to get back to his best form. It’s a shame his form came at a time when other players on the team are underperforming on a weekly basis.
We’re nearing halftime and City was a million miles better than United.
In addition, the home crowd is much flatter than usual – and that will hopefully change quickly in the second half.
De Gea also managed to keep us in the game. It took a brilliant save to beat Gabriel Jesus and the Brazilian was in a great position to double City’s lead.
There were calls from the audience to stop playing from behind – as this is not one of the team’s strengths, City catches us every time we try.
The only other solution – from what I’ve seen so far – is to kick the ball long. That usually meant that we lost possession immediately and put even more pressure on our defenders.
