Gareth Bale says Tottenham « wants to attack » after the winger helped Spurs beat Southampton 2-1 in interim manager Ryan Mason’s first responsible game.
Without the injured Harry Kane, Tottenham faced Southampton came from behind, leading at halftime thanks to Danny Ings’ goal.
Bale, who fell out of favor towards the end of Jose Mourinho’s reign, equalized with an excellent result on the hour before Son Heung-min called his late penalty secured all three points.
Mourinho was sacked on Monday, at the start of a week in which Spurs face Manchester City in the League Cup final.
When asked by Sky Sports what needs to change after Mourinho leaves, Bale wants the north Londoners to take the initiative more from now on.
