Filmmakers Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar, who received their Padma Shri Awards for Art on Monday, expressed their joy and gratitude in heartwarming posts on social media. Ekta Kapoor, who attended the awards ceremony in New Delhi with her father and veteran actor Jeetendra, received the Padma Shri Prize for her contribution to the performing arts. The Padma Awards – which are given in four batches – are for 2020. Ekta Kapoor shared a photo of herself and her father with her award and wrote in an Instagram post: « Thank you … the greatest day of my professional life and second only to the birth of my son! #padmashri #JAIHIND. » Ekta Kapoor welcomed her son Ravie through surrogacy on January 27, 2019.
In a separate post, Ekta Kapoor described honoring Padma Shri as « a surreal moment » and dedicated her award to her family – father Jeetendra, mother Shobha, brother Tusshan, son Ravie and nephew Laksshya. She wrote: “It is an absolute honor to receive the fourth highest civil award for my modest contribution to the performing arts. It’s a surreal moment and a matter of great pride. I would like to dedicate this badge of honor to my pillars. ”Full of strength – my mom Tusshar, Laqu, Ravie and dad. They believed in me with all their heart and because of them I am who I am! Karan Johar described the feeling of receiving the Padma Prize from the hands of President Shri Ram Nath Kovind received, « surreal » and wrote this in a post on Instagram: « Today felt surreal! I feel honored and humble that the prestigious Padma Shri Award was awarded I am very happy to have it from the hands of our honorable President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. In another Instagram post, Karan Johar wrote about the award with her mother by his side and what his children Yash and Roohi said to him after he was honored with the Padma Prize. « About the last evening … A really memorable moment in my life ….. Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar received their Padma Shri Awards in the second ceremony that took place that evening. Actress Kangana Ranaut and Adnan Sami were awarded the Padma Shri on Monday morning.
Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who died last September will receive the Padma Vibhushan posthumously today.
