A woman has died after falling at least 50 m from a waterfall in Far North Queensland.
Emergency services were hired on Sunday afternoon to conduct a search and rescue operation in Windin Falls in Wooroonooran National Park in the Tablelands .
Queensland police said initial reports suggested the 58-year-old Cairns woman fell from the top of the falls just before 1 p.m.
The Windin Falls, which was about a 90- minute hike along the Old Cairns Track, offer views of the World Heritage Site Wet Tropics and a natural infinity pool that slopes into a valley.
