Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday supported the central government’s decision to raise the age of marriage for daughters from 18 to 21, saying that this will mean daughters will have time to pursue their careers.

« We have decided that daughters are allowed to marry at the same age as sons. By the age of 21 to marry daughters, they will be able to study full-time and also develop their careers, « said Prime Minister Modi. .

A bill tabled at the Lok Sabha winter session to raise the age of marriage to 21 for women in all religions was sent to a parliamentary committee for consideration.

The Prime Minister made the remarks speaking to the gathering after the inauguration and laying of the foundation stone for Rs 11,000 billion development projects in Mandi district today Pending for decades. It will result in the production of over 750 million units of electricity per year. The surrounding federal states of the region also benefit from the modern and reliable grid support.

The foundation stone for the Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project was also laid on Monday by PM Modi.

« This will be the first hydropower project in the Hamirpur district. The 66 MW project is being built at a cost of over 680 billion rupees. It will generate over 300 million units of electricity per year, « said a statement.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Power Project a. The 111 MW project was built at a cost of around 2080 billion rupees. It will result in the generation of over 380 million units of electricity per year and help the state generate revenues worth over 120 billion rupees annually.
