Verstappen leads practice sessions at Silverstone
Max Verstappen continued his dominant performance in Formula 1 by leading both practice sessions on Friday at Silverstone. However, his advantage was trimmed to just 0.022s by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in the second practice session. It was a frustrating afternoon for Ferrari as Charles Leclerc missed the entire session due to an electrical issue. Williams impressed with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant securing third and fifth place respectively. Lance Stroll, despite being hit on the finger by a piece of gravel, managed to take sixth place for Aston Martin.
Mercedes struggles in practice sessions
Mercedes had an underwhelming day with George Russell finishing 12th and Lewis Hamilton in 14th place. AlphaTauri debuted its major car upgrades, but both Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries ended up at the bottom of the FP2 results. The qualifying session for the British Grand Prix is set to start at 3pm local time. In the United Kingdom, Formula 1 is broadcast live on Sky Sports, with the British GP also shown on Channel 4. Live streaming is available through NOW in the UK.
