Liverpool v Leeds United: Kick off time and how to watch the Premier League clash on TV and online streams
Leeds United tipped as FAVOURITES to land €16m-rated Barcelona ace, fresh twist in Man Utd £100m transfer saga
Former Swiss international defender Berardi saw his season end in premature fashion with the 32-year-old suffering an ACL tear in his knee in United’s penultimate game of the season at Derby County.
The defender’s already extended Whites contract expired at the end of the season but Whites chairman Andrea Radrizzani paid tribute to Berardi’s commitment at United’s end-of-the-season awards ceremony in July, saying the club had « prepared something to remind him that he’s Leeds, and adding « he’s one of us whatever decision he will take. »
Berardi was thought to be facing up to nine months out and the hard man centre-back or full back provided an update as to his situation when speaking to Swiss media.
« I go walking a lot but it’s going well, even if it will be a long recovery, » Berardi told Swiss media outlet RSI.
« At the end of September I should go back to England to define everything and still stay at Leeds.
“We deserved the promotion and we hope to stay up in the Premier League too. I think the team is well equipped and we will have the opportunity to show our qualities.”
