Kartik Tyagi, Yashasvi Jaiswal And Akash Singh Laud Their Rajasthan Royals’ Seniors

Kartik Tyagi is a right handed pacer, Akash Singh is a left arm pacer while Yashasvi Jaiswal is a left hand batsman. All were part of U-19 World Cup and will play for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020.

Kartik Tyagi is 19-years and is a right-handed batsman and pacer, while Akash Singh who is 18-years is a right-handed bat and left-arm pacer while Yashasvi Jaiswal is 17-years old and is a left-handed batsman. Akash Singh who hails from Rajasthan is a resourceful left-arm pacer who was picked by Rajasthan Royals in 2020 IPL and was a part of India’s U19 World Cup in 2020.

Kartik Tyagi hails from Uttar Pradesh loves to swing the ball and after good performances in U19 World Cup, he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals. Yashasvi Jaiswal came from a humble background but set the stage on fire in U19 World Cup where he was the top scorer with 400 runs in 6 matches averaging 133.33.

The trio of youngsters may not get a chance in the final playing 11 but will come across international and national stalwarts in Rajasthan Royals dugout and dressing room.

“I can’t explain what has been Suresh Raina’s contribution in my career,” one could gauge the emotion in Kartik Tyagi’s voice as he spoke about his first senior team captain.

“Jofra Archer is the best in the world but it’s not one thing I want to learn from Jofra. There are many things to learn from him and I would like to pick his brains on all aspects of fast bowling,” said Kartik Tyagi.

Kartik Tyagi mentioned that former pacer Praveen Kumar helped him in a Ranji match besides Suresh Raina who asked selectors to put his name in the squad for Ranji Trophy. In that match against Railways, he performed decently.

“I must also mention how PK bhai (Praveen’s nickname) also supported me. During that match against Railways, Raina bhaiya stood at mid-off and PK bhai at mid-on just to guide me and ensure I don’t suffer from nerves,” said Kartik Tyagi, who had decent figures of 1 for 25 from 15 overs.

Akash Singh is a left-arm pacer has a chance to be Jaydev Unadkat’s understudy. He knows that Jaydev Unadkat will be the first choice in the starting 11 but he wants to be on the spotlight too as he can learn a lot off the field from the senior cricketer.

“I am lucky that I have JD bhai in my team. I would take this in a positive manner (that he may not be first choice). Also, from a senior cricketer, you learn about off the field stuff of how to carry yourself and this is our time to learn,” Singh said.

Akash Singh gained tips on strengthening mindset from former U19 coach and former Indian captain Rahul Dravid.

“Rahul sir would always emphasise on how I can improve and speaks about how to keep a positive mindset. He focuses a lot on mental make-up and I can feel that in last six months, I have become mentally stronger,” he said. “So whenever I feel I am under pressure, I go back to what Rahul sir tells me.”

Rahul Dravid was one of the cricketers who have scored more than 10,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs.

The left-handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal will take a lesson from Australian Steve Smith from whom he will gain knowledge of planning innings under difficult crunch situations.

“He has very different technique and it is his individual one. I would like to learn a lot about mindset as to how he plans an innings in difficult circumstances, how he thinks about his game,” Yashasvi said.

Steve Smith was a former Australian skipper but plays for Australia and is one of the top-ranked Test batsmen having an average of 62.84.
