Penn State Basketball Coach Pat Chambers Resigns HC Job

As varsity basketball season approaches, Penn State’s program received some surprising news on Wednesday night According to college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, there will be a new coach -leader hitting the Penn State sidelines this season

According to Rothstein’s report, head coach Patrick Chambers resigned as head coach of the Nittany Lions Penn State finished 21-10 in 2019-20 before the remainder of the playoffs was canceled. NCAA due to coronavirus

According to PennLive report, Chambers’ resignation follows internal Penn State investigation

In July, Iowa State Guard Rasir Bolton rocked the college basketball world by revealing why he left Penn State after his first season In a long tweet, Bolton told a story about Chambers’ insensitive to racism comments that led to his transfer

After Bolton’s accusations and a public apology from Coach Chambers where he admitted to having committed a foul, former Penn State forward Lamar Stevens (who graduated this year after four seasons with the program) , came to the defense of his coach

Asked by a Twitter user if Chambers is a good man and accidentally used the wrong phrase as a metaphor, Stevens quickly defended his trainer

“100%”, replied Stevens “He used the wrong choice of words but Coach Chambers is a great man who made a mistake His actions towards all of his current and past players speak a lot more volume Ask them… «

Bolton’s statement – part of which, but not all, is listed below – accused Chambers of never apologizing for his comments Instead, Bolton said he was told that Chambers had not apologized due to his origin and background

« A ‘noose’ around my neck is the reason I left Penn State Head Coach Patrick Chambers, the day after he was suspended from a game in January 2019, told me about ‘a « noose » around the neck A slip knot; symbolism of lynching defined as one of the most powerful symbols directed against African Americans citing the history of lynching, slavery and racial terrorism.Due to other interactions with the coach, I knew this was n was not a slippage of the tongue

« I immediately informed my educational advisor I confronted Coach Chambers I myself spoke directly with the AD office My parents contacted the AD office in writing and by phone My parents drove the five-hour trip to Penn State to meet with the AD office and Coach Chambers more than once Meanwhile, Coach Chambers admitted to what he said

I was provided with a meeting and a phone number to text a psychologist I was taught to deal with Coach Chambers’ personality type « 

« Coach Chambers never apologized, he said he was ‘from the north and didn’t know’ Subtle repercussions followed Some teammates were told I couldn’t do it trust and I was told that the team did not trust me I was not “all understood” and “faithful” “Because I defended myself? At my last player-coach meeting in April 2019, Coach Chambers told me he was’ really impressed with the way my parents spoke and were well organized’Another subtle insult « 

In nine seasons, Chambers was 148-150 as head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions In the 2017-18 season, Chambers led Penn State to an NIT tournament title but failed to led the Nittany Lions to an NCAA tournament appearance in his day He’s 190-178 overall as a head coach with Penn State and Boston University
