The National Weather Service has posted a tornado watch for most of the Mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills through 7 p.m. Thursday.
The watch area includes Ulster, Dutchess, Greene and Columbia counties, which are under the threat of severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form, not that one is imminent.
