The popular John Hughes film has ushered in the holiday season since it was first released in November 1990, and viewers in the three films have continued to enchant viewers for decades.
The film follows 8-year-old Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, whose family mistakenly leaves him behind when they are on vacation in Paris. Alone, the boy is forced to defend the McCallister home in Chicago from two mad burglars.
The top grossing domestic comedy movie of all time turned 30 this year, and award-winning food artist Michelle Wibowo celebrated with an incredibly detailed gingerbread replica of the McCallister house.
« I can’t believe Home Alone turns 30 this month, but it still makes me laugh when I first saw it all those years ago, » he told Insider in the press release was communicated.
« When I look at it I see like – I remember that day on the set, » he said. “Do you know how I hid my Pepsi behind the couch?. I can’t see it the way other people do. ”
