Sydney Sixers star Alyssa Healy tormentedly missed the record for a WBBL score when she blew up a brilliant century in Sunday’s clash with the Melbourne Stars.
After the Stars scored 4/178 in their innings thanks to a good knock from Meg Lanning (77 of 59), the Sixers had to go to great lengths with the bat to claim victory.
Enter Healy who fired 111 out of just 52 deliveries and strapped 15 fours and 6 sixes when her team came home in the finals.
Her score of 111 meant she fell just short of Ash Gardner’s 114 against the Stars in the 2017 season.
Social media has been full of praise for the Australian star, who continues to cement herself as one of the greats in women’s gaming.
One of the greatest hits we’ve ever seen!
