Fire departments are warning residents of these areas that they may be affected within the next hour.

Anyone who chooses to leave is encouraged to bring their family members, pets, medication, cell phones, and chargers, and travel to a friend or family who are outside the warning area.

Those who cannot walk are urged to close all windows and doors, turn off cooling systems, and seek shelter before the fire arrives.

A council has also been issued for residents in areas north of the grass fire including Tarneit and Rockbank.

The authorities are encouraging people in these areas to monitor the situation and keep the roads clear so that emergency services can respond.
