A fire raging since Saturday threatened the lives and homes of residents of the Gingin and Dandaragan areas north of Perth after the flame escaped containment lines.
A bushfire emergency alert has been issued for parts of the two northern counties after the fire picked up speed and burst lines of fire last night.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has urgently alerted residents of Ocean Farms Estate and told them to leave now.
« If the way is clear, the residents of Ocean Farms Estate must now move to a safer place. Your life will be in danger if you stay. Don’t wait and see that leaving at the last minute is fatal, ”the warning reads.
Residents are advised to travel north or south via Indian Ocean Drive.
An evacuation center has been set up at the Guilderton Country Club on Wedge Street in Guilderton.

More than 70 firefighters are fighting the fire, and the crews are assisting those on the ground.

The runaway fire, which has burned 240 hectares since Sunday, was demoted to guard yesterday after destroying parts of a Kwinana landfill.
