Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has introduced a new team for its difficult 2Day FM breakfast program and brought it back to a traditional talk show format.
The 2DayFM Morning Crew, including Hughesy, Ed and Erin, is replacing the music-only program that was passed in August 2019 after the program received poor reviews since Kyle and Jackie O left for ARN in 2013. The last team to host the morning show was Grant Denyer, Ed Kavalee and Ash London, and about 10 other hosts have been behind the mics including big names like Sophie Monk, Rove McManus, Mel B and Grant Denyer.
The new team, in which Ed Kavalee returns with Dave Hughesy and Erin Molan, starts on May 18. January.

At the time the talent-driven format was discontinued, Hit Network’s SCA director Gemma Fordham told AdNews that 2Day’s Workday ratings, which had grown with a music-centric format over the past year, encouraged it.
