Weltnachrichten – AU – ‘That’s wrong’: NRL gun fires after being forced into hotel quarantine

. .

Canberra Raiders center-back George Williams has claimed he was wrongly forced into hotel quarantine in Melbourne.

Williams visited from 28. until 30. December Bateman’s Bay, a seaside town nearly four hours south of Sydney, before heading to Canberra and flying to Melbourne.

The Englishman checked with officials at Canberra Airport who said he was okay to travel and did not need to be quarantined on arrival.

But by the time he landed, the rules had apparently changed and Williams was forced to stay in hotel quarantine for 14 days.

The NRL star exploded on social media after spending his New Years Eve in a « small » room.

« From the morning of the 3rd. January, if you arrive before 31. Had been to NSW on December 31st, it was (sic) okay to step into Victoria, « Williams said on Instagram.

“We checked this several times at the airport before we left. We went from 28. until 30. December from ACT to Bateman’s Bay.

“When we landed in Victoria, the rules had literally changed within an hour of our departure, so we had to go straight to the mandatory hotel quarantine for two weeks.

« The sticky note states that interstate arrivals in the hot or red zone in Batemans Bay or ACT are neither. So this is a false statement. « .

« This is something that we and other Act travelers did not know about, and there are many who are in the same situation as us on the same virgin Australia flight and cannot understand at all, again the airline at the airport Canberra for advising us that we were able to travel safely with no restrictions.

« The rooms are very small and have a window that you cannot open, which means we will not have fresh air for 2 weeks, » he wrote.

« We are not even allowed to leave the room ?! I’m sorry, but criminals get fresh air every 1 hour a day or are allowed out of their cell. HOW IS THIS FAIR? This is wrong. Help #freeUS. ”
