Weltnachrichten – AU – The Leverkusen goalkeeper kicks in the mouth with a botched kick and leads to a funny own goal: Look!

. .

Lukas Hradecky is a Slovakian-born goalkeeper who plays internationally for Finland and professionally in Germany at Bayer Leverkusen. Isn’t it strange that his problem on Saturday was bringing too much English to the ball?

At the start of the second half of Leverkusen’s Bundesliga match at Arminia Bielefeld, Hradecky was far from goal when Dutch defender Daley Sinkgraven made a simple back pass to get a clearance. Hradecky swung his leg and . . . Oops.

Aleksandar Dragovic, an Austrian on Leverkusen’s wonderfully global side (they also had a goal from Jamaican Leon Bailey), got Hradecky off the hook and secured himself in 88. Minute a 2-1 win with a goal. With the three points in hand, Hradecky can laugh when he joins the pantheon of own goals, together with his Bratislava-born Netminder, albeit in a different sport, Jaroslav Halak.

That game 10 years ago this week was much worse for Halak, who gave up six more goals he hadn’t posted himself when the Red Wings beat the Blues 7-3.

Leverkusen are unbeaten in eight games this season. The win on Saturday was the fifth in a row and kept the pressure on Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga upright.
