Zscaler has named Steve Singer as Regional Vice President and Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Singer joins from Talend, where he held the similar role of A / NZ Country Manager, and is tasked with continuing to grow Zscaler’s cloud security solutions for private and public sector companies. He will also be responsible for building relationships with local partners in the region.

Scott Robertson, Zscaler senior vice president for APAC and Japan, says Singer’s expertise was the right choice for Zscaler.

Singer has 15 years of experience in the IT industry, including his time at Talend where he was responsible for selling Talend’s data fabric platform alongside the company’s entire portfolio of cloud software products.

Prior to Talend, he held various senior positions at NetSuite, including Sales Enablement Manager for APJ and Account Executive Corporate and Mid-Market. Before that, he worked for Salesforce for several years in corporate sales as an account executive.

The news comes a week after Zscaler Cloud Protection announced its new automated solution for protecting workloads on and between cloud platforms.

The solution, which implements a zero trust approach to cloud workloads, aims to minimize attack surfaces and ensure security across multiple cloud footprints.

In the announcement, Zscaler singled out four specific components of the solution that users can take advantage of:
