Tipperary 0-17 Cork 0-14

Tipperary has stylishly honored the memory of Michael Hogan with his first SFC title in Münster in 85 years.

On Bloody Sunday’s centenary weekend and in Tipperary’s jerseys on that fateful day, the men of David Power claimed a famous win against a cold Cork team in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

With a 12-point lead, Captain Conor Sweeney and Michael Quinlivan came to the fore in this remarkable win for an unbelievable Premier County team. Minute was ahead.

Two minutes into the second half, Liam Casey had denied Square Ball a goal and Tipperary only recorded one point for the entire third quarter. However, Cork was so hasty in possession and kicked four wides during that time.

With a 0-12 lead to 0-9 last quarter, Casey and Sweeney’s points calmed the nerves, though Mark Collins hit back with a series of frees to undo them. Seán White looked like a goal but opted for a point instead. Tipperary followed up with an Evan Comerford clear from distance and after the ensuing kick-out Michael Quinlivan almost threw Micheál Martin for a goal but the ball bounced on the bar to score a satisfactory point.

A free Cathail O’Mahony followed to put three more between the pages, but when his first act hit the field, Philip Austin turned a rebound off a Comerford 45. John O’Rourke sent his second point, but Cork couldn’t smell the goal they so badly needed.

Cork’s lack of intensity was punished by Tipperary after the water break in the first half when the teams were tied with 0: 5 apiece. Colm O’Callaghan, Ruairí Deane, and Tadhg Corkery were all turned over cheaply, and Sweeney and Quinlivan sent scores after O’Callaghan and Corkery were expropriated.

Tipperary had three points on the board before Cork scored the first goal in the third minute. The hosts were in the 10. Warmed up in the minute when a Mark Collins free kick completed the game but it was a must until the call for fluids.

In the 23. Minute, O’Callaghan scored 0-6 apiece, but Tipperary hit her four times in a row, two of them from Quinlivan, including a free kick. Kevin Fahey, who was lucky enough to win in the 24th. In the 34th minute, not getting a black card. Minute after taking a break from sales.

John O’Rourke finished a 12-minute break with no Cork score, but another good score from Quinlvan saw the half and Tipperary was full for her halftime lead, 0-11 to 0-7.
