A little more than two weeks until Real Madrid face Atalanta in the Champions League round of 16, the Spanish giants were hit by a heavy blow.
According to a report by COPE, which is quoted by Sport, must Los Blancos captain Sergio Ramos is undergoing surgery for a meniscus injury which means he will be missing for six weeks.
That would exclude him from a number of games, including their European outing against the Italians as well of the Madrid derby against city rivals and La Liga leaders Atletico.
Chances are he could win the Champions League second leg, although Zinedine Zidane is unlikely to want to overturn his captain as he needs for the end of the season business Will.
Not to mention that Florentino Perez is still trying to determine if Ramos will stay at the club at the end of the campaign or if his career will be different where will end.

Given that Real are often on defense at six and seven without Ramos’ belligerent presence, the next few weeks are crucial for Zidane and the rest of the Real team to be beaten the table or out of Europe.
