Channel 7 host Edwina Bartholomew thanked new Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr for supporting her journey as a working mom in a heartfelt tribute last week.

On Sunday, Barr was announced as a replacement for Samantha Armytage on the popular breakfast TV show, and Bartholomew credited the mother of two for helping her during her first year of motherhood after giving birth to their one-year-old daughter, Molly.

« A new dawn with the incomparable @ natalie_barr7 at the helm of @ sunriseon7, » wrote Bartholomew on Instagram.

« I’ve worked with Nat for nearly twenty years. She is the hardest working person I know, an excellent journalist and a wonderful mother to her two boys.

“Extremely elegant but also an avowed dag, I can’t wait to see what brings her into the role. Personally, Nat has been a great support since I’ve had Molly with more than a few chats in the changing room about the challenges sleepless nights and juggling. Bring Monday morning and this next chapter x.  »

After Armytage’s departure after eight years last week, Barr will now co-host with experienced television presenter David Koch.

It comes after Armytage claims that women who are unmarried or have no children are often treated differently in the workplace.

« Bosses don’t ask that much of you if you’re a woman or a mother, » she said in an open interview last month.

« I’ve never shied away from hard work, but there was an expectation that Sam would because she had nothing else to do. [Sometimes I would think] ‘Well, actually I would start something else if you got me not brought to it. ‘ »
