MOUNT MAUNGANUI: Alyssa Healy was the third Australian woman on Wednesday to play 200 games for the country in various formats.

The prelude achieved the feat in the ongoing second ODI against New Zealand here at the Bay Oval . The wicket keeper played in her 78th ODI and joined the 200-game club. Before Healy, Ellyse Perry and Alex Blackwell were the only two cricketers to have played 200 or more games for the Australian women’s team.

The 31-year-old has played most of the games in the shortest format of the game. She played in 118 T20Is for Australia and scored 2,121 runs including a century and 12 fifties.

In her four Tests she accumulated 201 runs, while in her ODI career she accumulated 1,881 runs, including the 44-run Knock against New Zealand here in the Bay Oval. She’s also hammered three centuries and twelve fifties into the ODIs.

Interestingly, Beth Mooney is also playing her 100th international for the country. She has played 58 T20I, 2 Tests and is in her 40th ODI.

Previously, the hosts won the throw and asked Australia to beat first. Openers Rachael Haynes and Healy gave the team a solid foundation and added 82 runs for the first wicket partnership.

In the final game, Australia beat New Zealand by six wickets, setting the world record for most consecutive ODI wins . The record for most consecutive ODI victories was held by Ricky Ponting’s team, who had 21 trot wins in 2003. With the victory over New Zealand in the first ODI, the Australian women’s team recorded their 22nd victory in a row and thus the site has set a world record.
