With just over a week on the job, outgoing CNN presenter Brooke Baldwin opens the curtain on the network’s male-dominated executives and how she “had to fight for women’s stories”.
“The most influential anchors in ours Network, the highest paid are men. My bosses and my executives are men. The person who oversees CNN Dayside is a man and my executive producer for 10 years has been a man. So I was surrounded by a lot of men, ”said Baldwin, 41, on Monday’s Ms. Magazine podcast.

In 2018, The Wrap conducted an analysis of weekday programming on various networks and found that CNN didn’t have as many female anchors as competitors like MSNBC and Fox News.
The outlet found that CNN was halfway through on weekdays had that many female solo anchors, with only three versus six each on Fox News and MSNBC and none in the 8 p.m. prime time evening hours. until 11pm
Baldwin, whose last day on the network is April 16, said CNN has begun « gradually » giving women more power in digital and executive newsgathering positions, but more work needs to be done « It’s getting better, but we still have a lot to do, » she said.
