The Arkansas offensive has buzzed in the nation’s top 20, and now the Razorbacks face the SEC’s inefficient defense against Vanderbilt in Nashville on Saturday.
The Commodores are 232nd in the country in points that are permitted per possession and the 253rd place as a percentage of the opposing field goalscoring. But they’ve improved their offense and scored at least 72 points in four of their last five games to stay competitive.
Arkansas has allowed at least 69 points in each of its last 10 games, allowing opponents to score 36.2 percent of their 3 -To score points-shots since the beginning of the SEC game.
Vanderbilt tries 47.4 percent of his field goals from the 3-point range, which is the 17-highest rate among the teams in Division I. Each of the Commodore’s six top scorers makes more than 35 percent of their 3-point shots.
Since coach Eric Musselman took over in Arkansas two seasons ago, the Razorbacks have played 84 percent of their games against SEC opponents, the highest rate in the nation at this time. With two capable defensive crimes that have left much to be desired lately, the Arkansas over trend should continue.
