World news – Arsenal fans are mad at Arteta’s six changes

With Arsenal kicking off at lunchtime at King Power Stadium, they want to overthrow Leicester and boost their own hopes in the Europa League.

As games both domestically and in Europe are still tight and fast , manager Mikel Arteta has to shuffle his backpack, but that did the Gunners believers a disservice.

Against the greats of their bogeyman Jamie Vardy and a Foxes team proudly third in the Premier League table , it seems that most Arsenal fans have the consistency of selection in mind.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, including Cedric and Pablo Mari, two of them starting XI.

While the Gunners should still have had enough of this, there are still plenty of exciting attacking talent on the bench.

Buddy I seriously get the hump that we don’t literally see Martinelli at all. He played about 60 minutes in about 10 games and our only player to go underground at halftime

Why on earth could Arteta believe that playing Elneny, Xhaka, Mari and Luiz was supported by Arsenal’s spine by Pepe and Willian, who would allow Arsenal to move the ball forward in an offensive sense.
I’m ready to see Arsenal really struggle to break out of defense in the first place … unless the two full-backs manage to break forward. Even if they do, I’m sure the ball will then return to Arteta’s trusted four who will pass the ball sideways and backwards for whatever they’re worth … though Gabriel has been a little fleeting since returning from Covid was at least he has pace and in view of this CB partnership Vardy will be missing his lips with anticipation.
Arsenal’s pursuit of the league is little more than trying to land in or around Europe. This team seems destined to continue the underperformance trend and lose more games than you win.
Granted, Saka needs to rest … but Martinelli needs time to play. After convincing himself (and nobody else) that Willian was a game changer against Benfica. Willian goes back to the side. Peep was very « in and out » and largely invisible against either side. He is currently in the top half of the league. And he’s back again. Aubamayang clearly needs games to achieve more consistent form. Still, he’s rested. Partey also needs to re-develop match fitness, starting on the bench It was a match to start him … give him an hour and take him off later in the game.
The more I see of Arteta, the less I think he’s the man for the job … In fact, I’m pretty sure he’s not !!
While this roster is not perfect, it is certainly « capable » and not playing the sum of its parts … Mainly because the man who selects it and tells them how to play doesn’t know how to take them to the next level … or at least the level at which they can play.
