An asteroid the size of California’s famous Golden Gate Bridge is hurtling towards Earth and will make a narrow pass next month.
The space rock, officially named 231937 (2001 FO32), is within 2 million Kilometers away from us.
While this may seem like a long distance – and there is no risk of impact – it is enough to be classified as « potentially dangerous » by NASA.
An asteroid becomes Classified as « potentially dangerous » if its orbit intersects the earth at a distance of no more than 7.5 million kilometers and is more than 140 meters in diameter.
According to LiveScience, space observers may be able to see the asteroid in March see zoom in when you have the right telescope.
