MELBOURNE: The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal announced on Tuesday that he would not take part in the ATP Cup game against Alex de Minaur and Australia.

Nadal was ready to face de Minaur for the third summer in a row. Nadal had previously defeated him at the Australian Open 2019 and the ATP Cup 2020, reported Fox Sports.
The Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut will now face de Minaur, while the Australian John Millman will face Pablo Carreno Busta on Tuesday. </ The winner of the Australia-Spain draw will be preferred to advance to the ATP Cup semi-finals. To get to the semi-finals, the winner of that clash will also have to defeat Greece later this week.
The ATP Cup is a men’s tennis tournament between competing nations that premiered in January 2020. The tournament will take place in Australia over ten days prior to the Australian Open and will include teams from 24 countries.
The opening tournament took place in 2020 and was played in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. (ANI)
