World News – AU – 45th MTN SWAG Awards: Complete list of sports personalities honored

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana, SWAG, hosted yesterday October 10, 2020 the 45th edition of its annual awards ceremony at the Swiss Spirit Hotel Alisa in Accra
The 2019 edition which was to be held earlier was forced to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic
SWAG in collaboration with MTN has rewarded athletes in their different categories for their exceptional performances
The big winners were Jordan Ayew and Felix Annan, who won the best footballer of the year 2019, respectively foreign and local
The 29-year-old Crystal Palace forward was voted the best foreign male footballer of the year 2019 for his outstanding performances for the Eagles who saw him end the season as Palace’s top scorer with 9 goals
Mubarak Wakaso and Thomas Partey Ayew Sawing Competition, all vying for the prize
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper and captain Felix Annan was also crowned 2019 Local Footballer of the Year, beating competition from Shafiu Mumuni and Joseph Esso
Black Queens captain Elizabeth Addo also picked Women’s Footballer of the Year after avoiding competition from Grace Asantewaa and Jane EgyireOther winners
SWAG awarded Para-athlete Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe Sports Personality of the Year 2019
Footballer Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah won SWAG Prospect of the Year award
Boxer Richard Commey also won the SWAG Professional Boxer of the Year award.
