Richmond will unfold its flag for 2020 – and maybe 2019 – at the now traditional season opener against Carlton. One night later, also at the MCG, Adam Treloar’s first game with the Western Bulldogs will play against his old team Collingwood.

The two preliminary rounds Geelong against Brisbane and Port Adelaide against Richmond will be on Friday evening in round 2 and. 4, followed by the West Coast against Collingwood in the west in Round 5.

Good Friday Footy returns in Round 3 with North Melbourne versus Western Bulldogs and Adelaide versus Gold Coast and the Geelong versus Hawthorn game on Easter Monday.

The Anzac round will look different, with the day itself falling on the Sunday of the fifth round.

Melbourne and Richmond’s Anzac Eve game will be played on Saturday night as one of five games that day.

On Anzac Day itself, Collingwood will play against Essendon at 15. Be the centerpiece at the MCG at 8 p.m., surrounded by Hawthorn versus Adelaide in Tasmania at 12:30 p.m. and Port Adelaide versus St. Kilda in Adelaide that evening.

There will be two Grand Final rematches with Richmond and Geelong competing in both Rounds 8 and 19 of the MCG.

The Western Derby (Rounds 7 and 22), the Showdown (Rounds 8 and 21), the Sydney Derby (Rounds 5 and 18) and the Q-Clash (Rounds 9 and 20) are all played twice.

Full details for Rounds 1-6 have been announced, while the games and venues for Rounds 7-23 have also been released, but not their dates and time slots.

These will be published in blocks of approximately four to six weeks with a notice period of at least four weeks in 2021. This allows for flexibility and the best games to be played in the best time slots, while still giving fans the ability to make interstate travel plans.
