Christmas is just around the corner, which means it’s time to break up the snacks and watch some excellent new movies and TV shows on Disney Plus. The streamer has a lot to offer this Christmas season, from the adventures of the favorite duo Mando and Baby Yoda to Pixar’s latest film to an alien talk show with many stars.
When you’ve enjoyed these new Disney Plus movies and shows, you can sit back and relax with some classic Christmas movies – including The Santa Clause, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and seasonal specials of your favorite Disney movies to watch right now. However, if the usual vacation price isn’t your style, you can enjoy Mega Hammerhead – or Horton Hears a Who! for something that the whole family can see together.
Whatever you want to see this Christmas and New Years, Disney Plus is sure to have something you will enjoy. Scroll on and take a look at our top offers.
The Mandalorian Season 2 has greatly expanded what we saw in Season 1, from Darksaber to the live-action debuts of Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze. With Season 2 only being 8 episodes and less than an hour each, this show couldn’t be easier to watch. For Star Wars fans, The Mandalorian is a must-have – and even if you’re casual watching, the cuteness of Baby Yoda is simply irresistible. Definitely one to watch ASAP, before the most epic moments are inevitably indulged online – and to prepare for the third season of The Mandalorian.
This documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at the second season of The Mandalorian and tells us about all of the innovative technologies and processes that go into creating one of the best shows of the year. While the first season of The Mandalorian accompanied an eight-part documentary, the second episode is a one-hour special. You’ll hear from the cast and crew and check out the concept art. What better way to spend Christmas Day than diving far, far away through the galaxy?
Pixar’s newest offering, Soul, follows music teacher Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx) who dreams of becoming a jazz performer. But before his dreams can come true, an unfortunate accident leaves Joe’s soul separated from his body. Eventually, he teams up with another soul, Tina Feys 22, and tries to get back to earth in time to reconnect with his physical self. Our sister magazine Total Film has given Soul five out of five stars. So expect something special.
Companion soul is Pixar’s new short den, which is about a young rabbit trying to build a – you guessed it – den. She continues to dig where she shouldn’t, which makes her a little embarrassed. This short film is an enchanting hand-drawn animation. So if you’re looking for tradition or nostalgia this Christmas Day, you’ve come to the right place at Burrow.
This animated film follows an elephant named Horton who, one day when a speck of dust floats past him, discovers a community of tiny people called Whos from Whoville who live on the spot. Horton goes looking for a safe place to plant the stain and protect the Whos, but runs into trouble along the way. With a voice like Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell, Selena Gomez, Isla Fisher, and more, this cute movie is a great choice for the holiday season.
In this program, a very strange talk show by the Jim Henson Company, two aliens decide not to invade Earth after developing a love for human culture. Check out Ned and Cornelius interviewing celebrities from the bridge of their spaceship. Season 1 is already streamed so you can catch up on all of the weird fun before starting episode two, which features guests like Molly Ringwald, Kevin Smith and Alan Tudyk from Rogue One.
What better way to say Christmas than a documentary about mega hammerheads? Watch Dr. . Neil Hammerschlag and researchers are looking for more information on hammerhead sharks. You’re looking for one type in particular – the Big Hammerhead. When the seasonal festivities burn you all out, recharge with a look at the underwater and some real mega-sharks.
