Perth commuters experience major traffic delays at rush hour this morning after an empty Transperth passenger train crashed into an abandoned car in southeast Perth.
The train hit the stolen jeep, which was parked on the railway line just after 5 a.m. near the road and rail junctions of Albany Highway and The Crescent in Maddington.
They said the driver tried to drive the car down the tracks but got stuck and got out of the car.
There were no passengers on board the train and the driver was not injured in the accident.
Services on the Armadale railway line have been suspended so that emergency services can investigate and resolve the incident.
