World news – AU – Audi Cars – 2020 to 2030

. . Audi is expected to have around 650 this year. Selling 000 locally made vehicles - mostly sedans - in the number one market. Add 50. 000 imported models and 2020 will at least have been a good year. While China is strong, the US and Europe are less so, and consumers are buying far fewer TDI models and cars in general. Could more electrification help?

. .

The construction of the e-tron GT has started, but no production cars can be seen yet (prototype shown)

The 4th. The latest-generation 343 mm long A3 Sportback (five-door) was presented online in March after the planned premiere at the Geneva Motor Show this month had to be canceled. The Sportback, which is three inches longer than the replaced car, will be supported by a 4th announced in April. 495 mm long A3 sedan accompanied. In North America, the cars are new for the 2021 model year. A 4. 554 mm long A3 L sedan (long wheelbase), a special version for China, was presented at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November.

Production of the Sportback began in March, although it did not take long because COVID-19 shut down all Volkswagen Group’s European plants from the middle of the same month. The first hatchbacks and sedans offered the following options:

The A3 (three-door) and A3 Cabriolet will not be replaced due to cost reductions and slow sales of the earlier vehicles. There could be a third body style, however, as an A3 liftback is rumored to be part of the lineup. This would serve as a replacement for the TT. Another possible name for this car could be A3 Sportback Coupe.

The A3 Sportback 40 TFSI e plug-in hybrid was announced in September. For more information, see the link on PLDB below. The A3 series is to be revised towards the end of 2023. The successor should appear in 2027.

It is now almost two years until the arrival of the next A4 series. There will again be standard and extended wheelbase sedans as well as an Avant. The car will also gain a new meaning in European countries, as Volkswagen is taking the Passat sedan out of sales and the next generation of this model is only available for variants / station wagons.

The larger A6 continues to be very successful in China, but sales in North America and Europe are falling due to the shrinking segment in which it competes. Nevertheless, Audi is not giving up, as the A6 TFSI e showed a year ago.

The petrol PHEV version of the A6 was a world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. It is powered by the same drive train as the A8 L 60 TFSI e quattro and the A7 Sportback TFSI e.

The lithium-ion battery consists of 104 bag cells, which are combined into eight modules. In total, they save 14. 1 kWh of energy at 385 V.. . The battery’s cooling circuit is integrated into the low-temperature circuit that supplies the electric motor and the power electronics. The power electronics convert the direct current from the high-voltage battery into three-phase current for the electric motor; When it recovers, it does the opposite. The standard heat pump ensures efficient vehicle air conditioning and can use the waste heat generated in the vehicle to generate up to 3 kW of heat energy from 1 kW of electrical energy.

The A6 55 TFSI e was launched in Germany in October 2019. The Avant was added in April when the Volkswagen Group’s plants in Germany came back online after being shut down due to COVID-19. All versions of the A6 are to be revised from the fourth quarter of 2021. The replacement will follow in 2025. This model will almost certainly be an EV.

Audi will soon be selling a five-meter-long, low-volume, electric hatchback in the style of Tesla’s old Model S.. It could also serve as a replacement for the R8 which some believe will be phased out. In addition, Audi has chosen the same plant (Böllinger Höfe) from which the R8 for the production of the e-tron GT is made. Construction work started a few days ago, but the first deliveries are not planned until March.

According to Audi, the e-tron GT will also be available in RS form in November. The production model will be announced shortly.

Production of the R8 is slated to end in 2022 or 2023, and although the business model for a new model is said to be marginal. Should the project continue, the third generation car could be an electric vehicle. Audi is said to be working with Rimac on prototypes of an electric hypercar.
