Australia has the first trophy of the summer in their pocket and now has the opportunity to deal another psychological blow to India when they play the third and final ODI on Wednesday (first ball 2. 40 a.m. AEDT).

The teams travel to Canberra to play the final men’s 50+ game of the season after Steve Smith led Australia to big wins in games one and two at SCG.

A third straight win at Manuka Oval will conclude Australia’s first bilateral ODI series against India.

Up-and-coming West Australian player Cameron Green will complete his meteoric rise with a debut for Australia in the third One Day International against India.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the all-rounder will debut against India at the Manuka Oval on Wednesday afternoon.

Greg Chappell rates Green as the most exciting Australian cricket fan since Ricky Ponting and the public will see him for the first time on the international stage.

Green has had a remarkable start to his summer, averaging 50 with the racket at 21, including four hundred from just 19 top-notch games.

The lanky boy has also taken 30 wickets with an average of 22 runs per scalp.

David Warner’s injury opened the door for Green to potentially benefit from a top-level makeover. Either Marnus Labuschagne or Alex Carey will put Aaron Finch at the top of the leaderboard.

Green will likely debut in the middle order unless Matthew Wade is also added to the team.

Glenn Maxwell came to life at the two inaugural ODIs in Sydney after a disappointing season at the IPL.

A former Indian opener calls on the attack to target one of Maxwell’s weaknesses – one you can’t see.

Maxwell caught fire with bat in hand and smashed a total of 108 runs.

In a video on Youtube, Aakash Chopra asked the Indian bowlers to move away from convention and attack Maxwell’s ego.

« The IPL story is usually not the story of international cricket when it comes to Glenn Maxwell, » he said.

« He seems to be struggling in the IPL, but when he plays for Australia he maxes out while he’s in the IPL Mini.

“How Glenn Maxwell stands by the fold; he seems like a lumberjack. He just wants to hit the side of the leg and doesn’t worry about the outside at all.

« His [Maxwell’s] problem is his nose and toes. So you should start with a fast bowler and roll it by your toes and then your nose or vice versa. You have to play with his ego because he is a selfish gamer. ”

He said it was necessary to not only be unconventional with Maxwell’s mindset, but also the length of their deliveries.

« If you were rolling a Yorker, he would remove his feet and play. And if you try all of these, you can get him out. Better not to bowl for long, try to get it out from the start. ”

Australia is keeping its options open as it makes one final call as to who will replace the injured, open David Warner at the top of the order.

The young gun Cameron Green could be in the frame for his international debut if Marnus Labuschagne is used to open it.

However, Warne is concerned that if they rest too many or take India too lightly, Australia’s plans will backfire.

« I think he’s such a good player and if you win the series it is a good time to maybe take a rest or two. But you don’t want to take it easy against India. ”

Australia took the victory in their first two games which were based on strong hitting performances but Warne has urged them to keep the rage going.

« When you compete against India, the best testing team in the world, as good as this one, you want to be ruthless at every opportunity you get, » he said.

This summer’s showdown is the 13th. Time Australia and India compete in a bilateral ODI series.

Australia didn’t lose a game in a 1984 series, but they didn’t finish the whitewash either because the games were abandoned.

It’s a piece of unwanted history. Virat Kohli’s men are about to have a long summer with T20 and test cricket.

The first is that Warner is unavailable and missed his first match with the groin strain he suffered on Sunday. He is expected to be replaced in the Australian line-up by Matthew Wade, who hasn’t played an ODI since October 2017.

The other is that Pat Cummins isn’t playing either. He won’t be back in action for Australia until the first test as part of his workload management.

His absence puts increasing emphasis on Mitchell Starc getting back in shape after a sad start to the summer.

Starc won 1-65 in the first game and 0-82 in the second game, but Australian captain Aaron Finch attributed his fights to the quality of the Indian batsmen.

« From my point of view there are definitely no panic wards. . . It’s just a matter of time, ”he told reporters.

« You need to understand that his standards are much higher than most other people expect, as he has been dominant for the past eight or nine years, especially in white ball formats. ”

Australia Possible XI: Aaron Finch (c), Matthew Wade, Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Moises Henriques, Alex Carey (week), Glenn Maxwell, Sean Abbott, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood.
